GIT, in collaboration with the Hub of Talents in Gem and Jewelry Industry and supported by the National Research Council of Thailand under the Hub of Talents and Hub of Knowledge development program, hosted The 1st International Bangkok Jewelry Hub Symposium 2026 on 24th February 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event was opened by Dr. Wiparat De-Ong, Executive Director of NRCT, and featured a keynote lecture by Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, Director General of GIT, on advancing sustainability in Thailand’s gem and jewelry industry.
As Thailand’s first international gem and jewelry symposium of its kind, the event attracted strong interest from academics and industry professionals. The program included lectures by Mr. Sittisak Limwattanayingyong, President of the Thai Silver Jewelry Exporters Association, and Mr. Kinjal Shah, Head of Asian Development at the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC). Two panel discussions were also held: “Creating Value in Gold Products through Circular Economy,” featuring Mr. Cherdsak Utha-Aroon, Mr. Thanong Leelawatanasuk, and Dr. Pongsakorn Kantichaimongkol, moderated by Dr. Montira Seneewong Na Ayutthaya; and “Success Strategies for Thai Jewelry in a Volatile Market,” featuring Mr. Peerayos Sirikiatsung, Ms. Worawan Tuntachon, and Mr. Warodom Maneeweswarodom, moderated by Mrs. Wasana Waewsri. The symposium further strengthened the knowledge dimension of the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair.
