Mr. Sumed Prasongpongchai, Director General of GIT, stated that GIT’s World Jewelry Design Awards 2024 has set the theme “Enchanted Hues – Unlocking the Secret of Primary Color” presenting a high jewelry collection design that seamlessly blend natural gemstones like Rubies, Blue and Yellow Sapphires, renowned treasures of the World, to craft stunning pieces that transcend the ordinary, boundless imagination and the magic of Primary Color Theory.

This opens opportunities for creators, professional designers, newcomers, and the general public who are interested in showcasing their creative potential and inspiring Thai and international designers, leading them towards designing trends from the perspective between designers and the future of Jewelry Design Trend.

The competition offers total prize of 260,000 THB or 7,000 USD. The winner will receive cash prize of 3,000 USD, the First Runner-up will receive cash prize of 2,000 USD and the Second Runner-up will receive cash prize of 1,000 USD. There will also be Honorable mention award with cash prize of 500 USD, as well as the GIT Popular Design Award 2024 with cash prize of 500 USD with honorary trophy. The results of the first-round judging will be announced on June 11th 2024, with judges selected from around the world.

As a special privilege for commercial development with GIT and its partners, the top 4 designs selected will receive guidance from jewelry experts both locally and internationally, and the designs will be produced into actual jewelry pieces to advance to the next round of competition. Participants in this competition will also have the opportunity to join the Community Platform: GIT Jewelry Design Gallery, a platform serving as a bridge between designers and entrepreneurs to develop and present jewelry products, generating income from designers. This supports the progression of designs into development and production for future distribution, allowing new designers to enter the jewelry industry in practice.

Designers must submit drawings or digital illustrations from computer programs, or with any techniques, that aligns with the competition’s theme. Each collection must consist of a minimum of 3 pieces, with a necklace as the mandatory piece along with other jewelry pieces such as earrings, rings, bracelets, etc. Submission is from now – 31st May 2024 via www.gitwjda.com or by sending the design by mail (application form can be downloaded from www.gitwjda.com) , or by submitting in person to the Training Department at The Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand (Public Organization).
